Why We’re Called Copper Compass
We chose the name Copper Compass intentionally.
A compass represents direction; not rigid instruction, but steady guidance. In marketing, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by trends, tools, and opinions. A compass doesn’t shout. It doesn’t rush. It simply helps you orient yourself and move forward with clarity. That’s how we approach strategy: calm, focused, and aligned with what matters most to your business.
Copper adds that warmth and connection. Copper is known for its strength, adaptability, and ability to conduct energy. It connects systems. It carries momentum. And over time, it develops character. To us, copper represents marketing that’s practical, human, and built to last; not flashy for a moment, but valuable for the long term.
Together, Copper Compass reflects how we work:
- We bring clarity without ego.
- We build strategy that’s grounded and usable.
- We help you understand the “why,” not just the “what.”
- We support you as a partner, not just a provider.
Because great marketing isn’t about handing you a map and walking away. It’s about navigating your unique business journey together.
At Copper Compass, we offer marketing strategy, education, and support designed to help you grow with confidence . We want to build the internal knowledge and momentum to keep going long after our work is done.
Jennifer Best
Founder and Fractional Chief Marketing Officer (fCMO)
Hi, I’m Jen! For more than 25 years, I have supported small and startup businesses with digital marketing strategies and programs.
I began in the industry by building my web design and development business, Lewis Web Creations, where I helped hundreds of small, startup and nonprofit businesses create their first websites. In 2008, I was honored by the U.S. Small Business Administration with two awards as Home-Based Business Champion, winning for both the state of Maryland and the Mid-Atlantic region.
Not long after, I made the transition into corporate work, where I moved up the corporate ladder for the next 14 years. I worked within the cybersecurity, healthcare services, and entertainment services spaces, bringing digital marketing, marketing automation, and demand generation best practices to each organization.
I noticed one thing with every single company I’ve worked with through the years. While the challenges from industry to industry might differ, the marketing best practices to build growth remain the same. The foundation of marketing excellence begins with a cohesive strategy. That’s where I come in.
I love working on a variety of projects and have been doing so throughout my time in the corporate world. Now, I want to share what I’ve learned throughout my career with small organizations looking to grow.
